MWR Team Response: Thank you for your response. We apologize that the Luau was not authentic enough for you. With limited resources we have in Singapore, getting authentic can be challenging with customs. The team did their best to get authentic as they could with the limited resources. We have discussed a few things we can improve on, and the hurdles the team went through to program the event. We do have a couple of openings coming up in MWR Community Recreation coming soon. We would love to have you on the team and come up with more activities for the community.
MWR Team Response: Thank you for your comment. We are pleased to clarify that there is not, nor have there ever been, any charges for condiments and water. In an effort to provide a more hygienic drinking experience (something that should have been implemented previously), we have instituted a drink fountain station. While there is no charge for water, there is a nominal cup charge of 25 cents. We understand your frustration, as change is not easy. Updates to the program are required to make sure the MWR SAC F&B program remains profitable, as is required by the CNIC Instruction. As suggested, we are looking for a way to price drinks to cover the costs of refills and water cups, by evaluating continued sales, as drinks help offset the price of the food. Condiments are already built into the pricing of the food, as they are with all other food providers (Grab, etc.) since this is the industry standard. There is an additional charge for extra sauces, such as Ranch, when it is added to a dish that either does not have it included in the menu description or is requested in larger than the standard quantity- another industry standard. Happy Hour Free Food was a pilot program that has been in place every Friday (with the exception of other scheduled events or ship visits). Unfortunately, as it did not drive revenue and had low attendance, it will be phased out. We will be offering 50% off on appetizers during Happy Hours moving forward.
While prioritizing the logistics and continued financial prudency of the Terror Club, it is not our intent to make you feel unwelcome. We hope there is an understanding that the need to maintain the Terror Club as instructed by the CNIC Instruction, does not equate to the Management’s personal motivations. We apologize that the lack of standard updated menu pricing over the past few years, makes the changes being implemented feel like a surprise. As customers are concerned about costs more than ever, we want to assure you that the F&B team is doing their best behind the scenes to minimize costs by establishing new vendors and production lines, while obtaining quality product. This means while increased pricing is inevitable, we are offsetting much of the cost before you get a chance to recognize it.
MWR Team Response: Thank you for your comment. We are saddened that you will not be utilizing the Terror Club anymore. We understand. We do provide healthy options, and they are available for purchase. Some items are difficult to get as the quality of the products is not in our best interest for the customers. If you ever come back, please ask the F&B staff for fruit options, and they can tell you what we have available for your consumption. Please remember that strawberries, raspberries, and other berries are expensive and hard to get. We don’t order a lot of berries.
MWR Team Response: We’d love to extend hours to accommodate ship visits! Currently, working with the commands to get early notification for the future ship visit to better support.
MWR Team Response: Great feedback! We encourage you to try all the pizza’s we have to offer!
MWR Team Response: Navy MWR Singapore will not be firing the manager. Instead we will be providing 50% off on appetizer to align with the CNIC guidelines. As we will be discontinuing the Happy Hour in the future.

MWR Team Response: We will pass the message on to our awesome staff. The Food and beverage Director's responsibility is to be concerned with profit and provide a safe environment for the community. As food prices go up, he has to ensure prices align and make a little profit to help offset the cost of the programs COM REC & Fitness can provide. The Director has a lot to keep in mind to provide to the community and find the sweet spot in cost to keep the Terror Club open.
MWR Team Response: Thank you for your feedback. We are currently evaluating the cost of drinks that is utilized by the drink dispenser. As this is the first time we had a fountain machine and we want to make sure we are pricing it correctly. We have been looking to get the buzzers replaced that were either misplaced, stolen, or never returned. Until we are able to resolve this issues we are working with the number system.

The red basket helps us portion correctly according to the standards and shows the reasonable cost of the food. Terror Club is not a fine dining facility.
MWR Team Response: Thank you for the feedback! Overall, we have been revisiting our hours of operation in MWR. The team is doing the necessary documentation for possible changes in hours of operation. We have to consider a few factors other than hours, which are staffing, transportation, and other program standards.
